After searching for countless days on end for the stronghold, while trying to survive the onslaught of mobs and Frank's treachery, the Five have stumbled upon the very village that stands at the edge of the biome that is home to the above-ground stronghold. Upon discovering the village, they also discover why this village has lasted through the Invasion so close its the source: it's underground. As they try to warn its leader, Geraldo, and its residents, however, loyalties of, under, and around the leader shift in unknown ways, and there are rumors of "Rebels" trying to convince people that they should return to the surface and get back their home instead of staying safe underground, and with the wave of mobs coming, it's only a matter of time before they reach the underground village. In three weeks time with the only known resistance heading into the portal to defeat Ender, Steve knows it can only end in two ways; they will either be victorious, or dead.

Me and my friend Cody and my sister Emily had been attacked by mobs in our hometown, sent out by a 'strange force' as the cops said. People called it the 'Event.' One day, we built a shelter and hid it away with a trap in front of it to insure that nothing from the outside could get in. Maybe if we would've simply warned people to stay out, to leave, they wouldn't look for us. But Tamika and Jack did look for us.
