Charlotte is a 13 year-old who lives by herself in the streets of 19th century London, England. Ever since her house burned down, taking her family and belongings from her, she has had to fend for herself. Charlotte has experienced many external and internal struggles that no one should ever have to go through, and really just wants to live a better life. 
Things get crazy when Charlotte encounters an elusive murderer, more commonly known as Jack the Ripper, and becomes the target for his next crime. Charlotte's situation also doesn't seem to be helped by the new changes she is experiencing that threaten her sanity. 
Things start to look up for Charlotte when the queen's secret investigator, named Cyril Lancaster, and his butler, Francis Edwards, rescue her from the streets and take her to live with them in Cyril's home, the Lancaster Manor. Jack the Ripper was never caught-but was it one man who could have gotten away with murder? Taken from the perspective of both the killers and the police, the two groups desperately strive to complete their goals. The killers, to avoid being caught red-handed. The cops, to stop the savage slaughters piling up on the streets of Whitechapel. - A fictitious rendition of the Whitechapel killings in 1888 London, England. - (I wrote this in a week for my short story class, so some historical elements are a bit off because I didn't have enough time to fact-check everything. Helpful critiques are always welcome!)
