Charlotte is a 13 year-old who lives by herself in the streets of 19th century London, England. Ever since her house burned down, taking her family and belongings from her, she has had to fend for herself. Charlotte has experienced many external and internal struggles that no one should ever have to go through, and really just wants to live a better life. Things get crazy when Charlotte encounters an elusive murderer, more commonly known as Jack the Ripper, and becomes the target for his next crime. Charlotte's situation also doesn't seem to be helped by the new changes she is experiencing that threaten her sanity. Things start to look up for Charlotte when the queen's secret investigator, named Cyril Lancaster, and his butler, Francis Edwards, rescue her from the streets and take her to live with them in Cyril's home, the Lancaster Manor. Charlotte aids her new friends in finding the murderer, leading to the ultimate showdown.
