(REWRITING) What Not To Do

"She's unique."

That's what they said about me; 'they' being my teachers, my friends, my family, and basically anyone else who was too nice to identify me as the hot mess that I knew I was.

I would probably never get this high-school-thing right. My perfect older brother had left his flawless legacy behind after he graduated, but it took all of two days for me to completely wreck that.

Well, maybe 'wreck' was too strong of a word. I simply re-designed his legacy.

My dear brother had tried to teach me exactly what to do to survive high school, but let's just say I'm not too good at following the rules. I'm not too good at many things in general.

You know how most people grow out of their awkward stage? I grew into mine.

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I will never live up to the standards that people set based on my brother. But, that didn't mean that I couldn't still help those in need.

So, ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to my own legacy- the guide to survival.

17 year old Jade Abbott knows exactly who she is. Soccer star on the field, accident prone off of it, and Jaxon's little sister- always. She has struggled her whole life to make her own decisions, but senior year seems to be the biggest struggle yet.

When Jaxon starts keeping secrets, she doesn't know who to go to. She's got her always-loyal best friend Lily, her new, almost-friend Alex, and her even newer boyfriend Mason. She thinks with them, she can get through it. But things quickly begin to change and she realizes that people aren't always who they say they are.

It isn't long before Jade has secrets of her own and it's only a matter of time before they get out.
