When Rye first moves into her new home in Southern, California, she is quite lost. Leaving behind all things familiar to her only to restart life elsewhere can be rather intimidating. Rye believes that moving is the worst thing in the world. That is, until she meets someone who has it worse than her. Alex, former football star of Oceanview High and school hottie, is involved in a car accident which takes his older brother, Chris', life. Alex had the opportunity to stop it. He believes his brother's death was his fault. Alex believes that he is damaged beyond repair. Rye takes interest in this popular boy and his notorious story. Can Rye show Alex that he can be forgiven if he forgives himself? Will Alex let her?
