Blessing

Spoiler Warning! If you haven't watched episode 8x23 of Supernatural, "Sacrifice," then this story contains spoilers!

As an angel, Cas had been capable of seeing all planes of existence. Spirits, monsters, souls.. they were all obvious to him. The metaphysical was as clear and tangible as the physical, and he had some idea of his place within each world. Yet as he stumbles back home after the Fall, after he and all his kin have ceased to be welcome in Heaven, he finds that humans don't have quite as broad a range of senses as he once possessed.
Something is missing now, he can tell, and it seems the only things which can convince him the missing piece may not be lost forever are a familiar presence and some comforting words.
