Join five zoo animals - Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo, and Ayana the Leopard - who have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity. Unexpectedly, two animals escape following Marty's dream to go to the wild. The rest follow suit for a rescue mission, and after a series of events, find themselves washed ashore on the eponymous island: Madagascar. (I have a few themes that are inspired by AlanAlexHolc. Alex and all of the other zoo animals find a way to escape from Madagascar when the penguins reassemble a wrecked airplane. The precariously repaired craft stays airborne just long enough to make it to the African continent. There the New Yorkers encounter members of their own species for the first time. Africa proves to be a wild place, but Alex and company wonder if it is better than their Central Park home.
