This is an excerpt from a novel about a girl who is shipwrecked on an island after an explosion on the cruise ship her and her friends were on, and they seek refuge on a nearby island.
This is later on into the novel after a load of stuff happens and Scarlett is barely hanging onto her sanity, when Maizy's death pushes her over the edge.
