¿Por qué tu? se trata de como Derek Black un mujeriego y Dreik Dacot el típico chico frio, pasan de rivales a una curiosa pareja de hermanos, que en una extraña situación se da a conocer que ambos son gemelos y fueron separados a los 5 años por el divorcio de sus padres.
Derek se queda con su padre conservando el primer apellido que es Black y adopta el apellido de su madrasta que es Grimm.
Dreik se queda con su madre tomando el apellido de ella el cual es Dacot y como segundo apellido adopta Jumper el apellido de su abuelo el cual fallese cuando Dreik solo tenia 6 años de edad.

My father as able to turn into a human that night and I was conceived. My father did not die and was able to turn back into a fairy. When I was only three I gained amazing powers. I trained along side the princess tiger Lilly and we became sisters because her father was my godfather. I then met five young girls who were just like me. They mothers had married five of the fairy princes guard who were his friends. My mother and their mothers were all brought up together because the same thing that happened to my mother happened to them as well. The five girls names were: Crystal, Emerald, Opal, Sapphire, Amber. Our mothers names us after the gemstone that glowed near us once we were born. We became fast friends.
