"We'd live longer with two of us," Maysilee noted.
"I guess you just proved that," Haymitch said to her.
"Allies?" Maysilee asked him, her eyes had almost a twinkle to them.
Haymitch nodded and Maysilee's smile grew, her eyes lit up brighter than the sun at dawn. The cannon boomed, marking the death of a contestant, but also marking the birth of an alliance.
