Kent Harrow is a vampire.
Has been for over seven hundred years. 
In his desperate half-heartened attempts to end his life, a pathetic existence; each of his lovers perishing  indefinitely not long after meeting him- centuries of involuntary celibacy and more money than he knows what to do with- he continues his half century search for a cure. Years and years of false leads and dead ends, he is without hope, and once again succumbs to his hunger. 

Waking up in a field of bodies, blood pooling around him, he feels disheartened in his attempts to fin the elusive cure- if there is one, picking up a steak and driving it through his own heart. As he bleeds out a demon appears to him amid his death, telling him there is a cure and it's nearer than he thought. Could this be the thing he's looking for? And what will he have to sacrifice to get to it?
