#315 Non-Fiction-9/27/17 "The loneliest people can be the kindest. The saddest people sometimes smile the brightest. The most damaged people are filled with wisdom. All because they do not wish the pain they've endured on another soul." - Timothy Delvecc Every person has a story. Usually when we look at someone we don't know, we tend not to think about what they could possibly be going through and all the thoughts running through their mind. Our brains tend to make judgments based upon what we see; and everyone knows that's not always a good thing. This is a story-a true story-of how judgment became my worst enemy. Mind you, this is not a happy tale. This is a story of a girl in search for happiness. A girl who has yet to discover herself while journeying down an unpleasant road filled with lies and torturous schemes. Don't let the title of this book deceive you and the picture of the smiling, innocent young woman lead you to believe this will be a book about sunshines and rainbows. What you do not see is the immense pain and anger that hides behind the slight grin. The scars from countless fights that are covered by the thin layer of clothes that nobody will ever see. So think again when you look at this book-because on the inside you'll find the story of the little girl on the cover is not what you'd expect.

"Why do you never smile?" "Because I'm not like you. I'm not important enough to be happy." ~ ~ ~ Gabriel Lancaster has never smiled. He has never grinned, never laughed. He goes through life as the world's biggest pessimistic optimist. If anyone else feels down, he does all that he can to cheer them up. But he's never once helped himself. This bothers Cassidy Evans. Gabriel has helped her out many times, and she's only been able to repay him once. All she wants is to see him happy. But she can never seem to break through his walls and get him to smile or be happy. Gabriel always wonders why Cassidy even cares. No one else does. But what he doesn't know is that Cassidy has a reason for what she does, and part of it involves her best friend's dead brother, Zach. One night, Cassidy devises a plan for Gabriel. One clicker, clicked only when thinking happy thoughts or doing something that makes him happy. Company, so he knows that he isn't walking this world alone. Cassidy's ultimate goal: prove to Gabriel that he is worth something in this world.
