'The only one. I hoped I wasn't; I desperately wanted another. Another one like me. I've lived here for years, I'm as old as the forest that lines the base of this mountain and yet I haven't met another phoenix wolf like me; another wolf with the blood of the ancient firebirds running through their veins.

I'm not completely sure if there's more like me, or my family. The ones I grew up with; oh I loved them to death. We stuck together for hundreds of years, my siblings and I listening to their tales, their warnings to us to stay away from the humans, stay in the forest and never leave. Ever.'
