Emotional detachment is feeling as though you have no emotions, positive or negative. Generally, there is still somewhat of a negative/sad emotion present, but otherwise, emotions are not felt very strongly. In this state, it can be hard to even imagine happiness. In the first meaning, it refers to an "inability to connect" with others emotionally, as well as a means of dealing with anxiety by preventing certain situations that trigger it; it is often described as "emotional numbing" or dissociation, depersonalization or in its chronic form depersonalization disorder.

Plea /plē/ Noun. A request made in an urgent and emotional manner. Marcus Aurelius once said you have power over your mind- not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. I've always lived by that quote, until it was twisted around in a debilitating way. The power of my mind has been held hostage by a seed of culpability which the outside events have planted. How does one destroy something for which one has created without taking a piece of them along with it? I simply don't know. But I heard once that there are no easy answers, but there are simple ones. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.
