Patel Yona lived for years as a slave to the Celestial Dragons, but before that time she lived a happy life with her parents on Fishman Island. Marine Captain Patel Hiroshi and a mermaid named Keemia. It was love at first sight, and shortly after they had Yona. When Yona was seven the Celestial Dragons, Saint Charlos saw Yon he wanted her as his new "pet". Mother and father fought for their child, but Hiroshi get shot and he tell Keemia to return to her people. The Marine is left foe dead and the Noble takes his prize. That's when Yon's time as a slave started. After the years of being a slave, Yona and another slave made the attempt to escape. They get separated but Yona finds an ally in the Straw Hats. They help her look for her friend and even more surprises await them as they head for their undersea destination. Learning more about their new ally, what her connection is to the Ryugu Kingdom and the affection she seems to have for the crew's sniper.
