Penny Summers, a 19-year-old touring the US, stops in the isolated town of Riverchase, California to take a break from traveling and to earn some savings. She has no idea what she's getting into when she accepts to help out in her neighbor's sweet shop in addition to helping out in the library for a guy who's taken an interest in her. She knows she has to leave soon - she always does before anyone remembers her - but she's not so sure she wants to anymore. Is it worth it to keep running from her past, or is it time to give in? Either way she's sure she won't see Riverchase again, so why stay any longer, right?
