Everyone in the world 300 years from now there is a new system new government and most of all everyone has a song.
Everyone has there own song that no one knows but your soul mate. When fate has decided for you to meet your one and only you sing your song and if your soul mate hears you they will sing with you and a connection will form.
There is a catch though there is a king in charge and a group of rebels. Once every century there is a Melody Thief.
A Melody Thief is a person girl or boy who has the power to learn every song. They tend to work with the rebels and get missions to learn a song and bring them back to the rebels.
Rei Johnson is the Melody Thief what happens when her mission is to bring the soon to be king, Prince Aspen, to the rebels? What happens when she finds out he's her soulmate the only other person who knows her song....
