"Don't you see now why we can't be together?" I whispered at the crazy boy in front of me. "Aren't you repulsed by me? Disgusted? Dis interested? Can't you just tear my heart out and leave like any other normal teenage boy?" My voice cracked. He simply shook his head. {COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. Becoming Her Dark Side
They lied to me. My own family. My so-called friends. All of them hiding the truth, that we're tied to the criminal underworld, a forte where my family, the Storms, are the undisputed kings. Then everything falls apart. My dad gets framed. My cousin ends up dead. And the boy I've had a childhood crush on-Nathaniel-turns out to be the one who could destroy me. At least Luke, the one person I shouldn't want, fights to keep me from breaking... but even he has secrets. But it's gets even worse, because now an organization is rising from the shadows, an organization that opposes everything my family stands for. And in a family of warmongers and sociopaths, I stood out as a glaring weakness. The most normal, the most vulnerable, and the most efficient way to end a dynasty that has ruled for centuries. Because what is a throne without an heir, and a crown without its king. So here I am, stuck in a game of blood and betrayal where the only way to survive is to stop being the fragile girl they thought I was. " How do you start a story? Maybe by simply saying 'Once upon a time...' or 'In a far off place 'Yea that's how most would but not me. In fact the story happened so fast it gives me whiplash thinking about how my first love became more than my best friend thru trauma. Our story really doesn't have a clear beginning,all I can say is we have known each other for a long time. It starts with us as babies, and no not just any babies but in the womb not yet born. Who would have guessed I would have to spend my life dreading the day I was born or should I say we, Before you jump to conclusions no we are not brothers just really close friends. Our moms have been best friends since Junior high,so of course we were destined to meet each other. But living together is another story. Our moms have always been close, when my dad died my mom had to raise such a hellion of a child alone which was too much for one mother to bare,which is how we met again. It had been 16 years,You would think he would remember me,but i guess the memories of me were buried so deep. Because of one unlucky night,everything changed."
