"Where do broken hearts go?" Thalia repeated. This time, she met my gaze. Without shed of bright light, I knew they were dark brown and dead serious. It was my cue to avert and look up instead. I didn't want to answer nor did I want to face any of them. Trusting the stars could come in my aid with this crisis, but they, too, were nowhere to be seen. They seemed to be obscured right now hence they probably didn't want any trouble that may cause their brightness to diminish. Well, I couldn't blame them. I heard Thalia sigh, probably done with my shit. Again. "You can answer it if you-" "In the past," I cut her mid-sentence, still not looking at her in fear of her dark browns reminding me of someone else's. Get him out of your head, I told myself. He doesn't deserve you. "Why's that?" she asked, shifting her position on the cold, hard concrete. "Because they are continuously living their lives based on their history, on their past experiences, on their failures like..." I couldn't find the courage to go on, but I didn't have to because Thalia ended it for me with her unusual low voice. "Like you do." SeventeenthGirl © July 2015
