The only thing Death wants is to stay in hell and have a nice long bath in the river of lost souls. All that goes out the window when the reaper in charge of the Shinjuku district in Tokyo goes on strike.
What was supposed to be a simple "catch-the-reaper" mission grows complicated when he accidentally gets run over by a motorbike. Next thing Death knows, he is being detained to a bed by the motorbike rider - a (cute) med student.
If that wasn't bad enough, he makes the terrifying discovery that an all-cupcake diet just won't cut it for the human body. Pity.
