Jackie Smolders, mother and father died, killed by witches. Since then, she was adopted by a pack of werewolves called Steel Shadow.

She was sneaky. Loved to play pranks in school and disobeyed her adopted father's order, the Beta of the pack. For being in love playing pranks on everyone in school, folk members of Steel Shadow never liked her rebellious attitude and planted in their children's mind to hate her. Struggling with her life in Steel Shadow, she sneaked out every night to the neighbourhood pack.

Black Smoke was the pack she loved to hang out. Aside from every member of Black Smoke was very nice to her, she had a crush on the Alpha of Black Smoke. Most of the time, it was her first reason for sneaking out at night to the neighbourhood pack, although had been warned by her adopted father not to.

The night during her 18th birthday, she found out something she couldn't believe. Not just her "mate" but the witches who killed her parents were coming after her.
