16 year old Rosalie lives in the middle of a forest she likes to think of as enchanted. With its many cherry trees and sparkling lakes, plus the books her adoptive mother brings her from the outside world, she has no need for the technology that the rest of the world.
However, everything changes when a strangely dressed man appears and tells her that she's a faery. Not to mention the strange man she met in the woods that she seems to be falling for.
Thrown into a strange leadership role in an unfamiliar kingdom that someone keeps trying to take over, Rosalie must accept the strange things she wants to deny.
Then, just as she seems to almost be getting used to everything and maybe accepting it, an attack to take the throne is launched on the palace. Rosalie must flee to the human world, full of even more unfamiliar technologies and ways of life- and not stick out, or the one trying to take the throne will kill her.
