Nathan Baker hates Julian Cruz. He hates his snarky attitude, he hates how overly confident he is, but most of all--he hates how good he is at football. He hates how stupid Roosevelt High school took home the championship trophy and the way the stupid rival team picked up his stupid rival, chanted his stupid name while he looked at Nathan with a stupid grin. Yep, Nathan hates him. But this year is his year. He's the captain of the Cortland Foxes football team, he's the starting quarterback, and he finally is back on good terms with his on and off girlfriend, Veronica. Senior year is the year. That is until on the first day of training the coach introduces someone who, in fact, does not need an introduction and Nathan almost explodes with anger on the spot. The feeling of hatred is very much mutual for Julian Cruz. He hates Nathan Baker with every fiber in his body. He hates his Hollywood attitude, he hates how rich he is, but greater than all--he hates how good he is at football. Sure, Julian had made the lucky catch and managed to make the final touchdown of the championship game and win, sure, he was praised as a God for the rest of that school year and got scouted by a couple college coaches. But none of that matters now that he and his Mom have gotten kicked out from their apartment and the only place they could find is too far to continue his laid-back life at Roosevelt High. It doesn't matter anymore because now he is forced to go to the one school in the world he would never have chosen if given the chance. Cortland High school, home of the foxes and his worst enemy. Well, since they're on the same team now they have to reach some sort of compromise...right? Who knows, maybe, just maybe, they'll like each other more than either of them though.

Lila Daniels has spent all of her life living under the protective wings of her three older brothers, Charlie, Lucas and Tucker or in the gymnastics gym training. None of which resulted in much of a social life. All of that changes though the summer before Lila's junior year of high school when her dad gets a new job in a different state. Being forced to transplant her life to the small town of Romeo without her brothers or gymnastics means Lila is on her own for the first time in her life. How is she supposed to start over from scratch and make new friends now?! The thought of having to meet all new people for someone who likes to fly under the radar is hard enough, but to do it at age sixteen? That feels impossible. As fate would have it, Lila meets Payton Johnson on her first day at RHS who introduces her to Rachel, Kelly and Claire. The five become fast friends. The girls make it their mission to break Lila from her shyness and make Romeo feel like home. Oh, and they also recruit her to join their cheer team which isn't something Lila ever thought she'd feel confident enough to do. Then there's Tyler Johnson. He's the senior football captain, star quarterback and most popular guy in school who happens to also be Payton's older brother. Lila doesn't want to catch feelings for her new besties brother, but quickly realizes you can't really control who you crush on. It's not like Tyler would ever go for her anyways, when he's got so many other girls begging for his attention....or would he?
