It's Aria's freshman year at high school and it is not what she was expecting at all. She was expecting everything to be how you see it in movies and read it in books. And boy was she surprised. There were no dreamy looking boys who were just dying to talk to her, and definitely no bad boys. What made it worse was that she was on the High School's Marching Band, making her the nerdiest of all nerds.

Emma Carpenter is a classic example of a nerd. She does her homework, gets straight A's, reads all the time, and never gets in trouble.
