It all started back in middle school. I was a basketball player and he was the quarter back. I wasn't popular, but he was. He got dared to ask me to one of those crappy middle school dances. I said yes of course. Well after that night we didn't talk again until junior year when we bumped into each other.. literally. He didn't even recognize me, he thought I was new girl. So he asked me to lunch. I mean who could say no to him? And that is where my story starts.

*Background Information* Jayde and Ryan have had chemistry since 6th grade, you know the kind. They had 5 classes together, and serious feelings for each other the whole way through. It was a roller coaster ride like anything else. They flirted, played sports together, the whole bit. In seventh grade they weren't as close. Some say they didn't like each other that year, Ryan was actually pretty mean to Jayde that year. Then 8th grade brought them around full circle when Ryan started having feelings for Jayde again. They had gym together, and in December Jayde started liking Ryan too. In January they started "talking" and just before Valentine's Day came up, Ryan asked Jayde out. *Rejected at First Sight* Spin-off series (By GirlWhoChasesRainbow) 🌶 "Oomph!" The sound rushed out of my mouth as the door opened before I could reach the handle and my body hits a wall. I stumble backwards slightly before a hand wraps around my waist, keeping me from falling. Looking up, I realize this wasn't a wall, but instead a very attractive male. A very messy, but definitely sexy, mop of black hair sat on top of his head. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a deep shade of brown that was probably often mistaken for black. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed.
