When he first gets there he expects everything to be just like a normal war, that changes when one of his friends commits suicide after having to kill someone. Rufioh's world had been rocked, but it only stirred up more trouble when he was suddenly given the task of taking care of a child named Karkat.

Everett VonDyke was only a normal eighteen year old boy, with ambitions and high hopes of making something in this world. Unfortunately, his life would soon change one sunny, summer afternoon in June of 1943. He learns that he has been drafted into the U.S Army and must go fight in Japan.
