Janelle is a young girl for whom everything is coming up roses.  School is great and she has friends who don't despise her, but her life is slowly being turned upside down.  Janelle becomes terrified as her nightmares from childhood return with malevolence.  Objects in her room go missing, are misplaced, or simply appear.  Sleep itself becomes a dream as the skittering of creatures keeps her wide-eyed.

After what seems like months of wondering what she did to deserve this, she finally discovers the culprits behind her miserable visage -- gremlins!  Though they might not be as sinister as they seem.

** Author's Note **
This is a work-in-progress.  The scope, style, and many other things have changed since this story was started - more than year ago.  A thorough rewrite is required, but I intend push through to the end before I go back and edit.

However, that won't be the case here. This is about parallel worlds. For Meredith and Lukas, they didn't find that out so quickly. Bullied and shunned for being the daughter of two famous and quite elite people, the students in Meredith Tanner's high school drove her off the cliff, resulting in therapy sessions once a week. Lukas James was in a different situation. He dropped out of high school (which disappointed his parents) and became a YouTuber, live-streaming games of generation A to Z. The two depressive teenagers didn't expect anything to change. She would continue therapy and never recover from the bullying and screeching suicidal thoughts, remaining as her high school's social outcast. He would continue to disappoint his parents by streaming on YouTube for attention instead of getting an education like his sisters. That's until a game changed their lives. "Parallel".
