-The second extract from the casefiles of D.I. Hawes and D.S. Gray- When D.S. Edmund Gray first arrived on the doorstep of Coates Hill Preparatory School for Boys, I.D. in one hand and takeaway cup of steaming coffee in the other, his initial reaction was how glad he was not to have gone there. His companion, a certain D.I. Cynthia Hawes, however, was more concerned about how easy it looked to climb out if the large, ornate Gothic style windows on the upper floors and make your way safely (ish) down to the ground below. And to D.I. Hawes's intent amusement, not that she would ever admit it to another living soul, it seemed one of the young boys had done just that. Previous Hawes&Gray cases: #1. Book | The city of Los Angeles was no stranger to violence and crime. "They were all drowning in corruption and black money..." "Interesting case!" But the way they were killed was brutal, and the killer always left a red rose covered in blood on the victim's body. "A rose? Seriously? Sounds like a 'Dark Romance' to me!" Detective Alpha Harry Styles of the LAPD had seen his fair share of gruesome crime scenes, but this case was different. He was determined to catch the killer and bring them to justice, no matter what it took. As he delved deeper into the investigation, he began to realize that the killer was more than just a cold-blooded murderer. They were someone who had a vendetta against those who had done wrong, and they were willing to do whatever it took to get their revenge. As Harry got closer to solving the case, he found himself drawn into a web of deceit and danger. "I will never forget this, Amore Mio! I'll make you pay for it! And we both are well aware how serious i get when it comes to...vendetta." "I'm sorry sunshine, but it has to be done..." Little did he know that the danger was far from over. Harry would have to use all of his skills as a detective to stay alive, and to bring the killer to justice once and for all. For the love of a rose, the gardener becomes the slave of a thousand thorns...
