Marcus Tarquus is just your average Pompeian boy, playing ball with his neighborhood friends, taking a swim in the ocean every now and then, and carrying out all of his religious duties to the gods of Roman Mythology. One day, the god of fire and volcanoes, Vulcan, decides he's not too happy with things, so he goes into a rage fit and sets off Mount Vesuvius. This tragedy is one that Marcus has been told that he'd never have to worry about. But when nobody is even ready for this to happen, he along with everyone he has ever known are in the threat of death and being lost in history...

A young cat, Persia, must travel across Italy to find her lost lover, Icarus, who she lost in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79AD. She has hope he's still alive, clinging onto a note he wrote her on their final night together, though when she finds him, things aren't exactly as they seem... Quick PSA: I wrote this story from start to finish in about a month and a half, during a very busy time. It's not perfect; this is basically a first draft and in my second draft I'll be tying up many plotholes and spending much more time on it, instead of just trying to write from A-B. However, given the time constraints, I'm really proud of this. Any feedback, good or bad is super helpful!
