Heroes are usually described as someone who fears almost nothing, someone who'll stand their ground and won't run from a fight, someone who'll stand up for what they believe in, someone who isn't Whisper Braene.
Whisper is the type of person who would rather stay at home and cook, bake, or even take pictures as a photographer- anything that doesn't have to do with conversing with anybody she doesn't know, facing her many fears, or going on little adventures. But when her sister calls and she finds out that her sibling's job as a journalist is in trouble, Whisper decides to step in and become the hero- if only for a little while.
The forest beside the town of Westerville is said to be guarded by a monster. It is said that many who have gone in have never been seen or heard of again- which is very unfortunate for Whisper, since part of her 'hero's' duty is to go in there and prove if the monster is real or not. Which is basically the if-you-get-eaten-it's-real, if-you-don't-it's-not kind of deal.
You see? This is where heroism gets you in life.
