Seventeen year old Scarlett is tossed from family to family, trapped in the foster care system. With one year left until she can legally be a free adult, Scarlett starts to turn more away from people and more to her own private thoughts. In each new foster home she documents her stay in her journal. In a way, her journal is her closest companion, it's been around longer than any foster family. The more she writes, the more her imagination develops and eventually she starts to daydream about adventures and retreats to anywhere other than a foster home in the same old boring suburban area.

On her 17th birthday she is sent to the courthouse to be sent to yet another foster home. Scarlett is to stay with the Forester family, but she has no idea that she will never reach the Foresters home...

The first book in the 'Sanity:' Trilogy Scarlett has been given the short end of the stick, born into a rich family and given the gifts of athletic and academic brilliance, she clearly overshadows her peers. However, her home life is less than spectacular with themes of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and self-harm painting the picture of her reality at home. When she finally has had enough and snaps, she's thrown into some of the worst experiences of her life. Read with Caution. "... A lighter was produced, a small piece of toilet paper in the other hand. A light, an ignition, and the flaming paper was dropped into the trash, igniting the waste as my own fire burned in that bed. My few, sacred fragments of sanity were burning. And it was only a matter of time before the rest of this house did too. Going Nowhere Fast

31 parts Complete

Life has never been easy for 16-year-old Billie. His dad is dead. His mom won't talk to him, and the people who he thought once cared for him are now desperately trying to ruin his life for revenge. Rumors of a conspiracy meant to destroy Billie's reputation start to flood his high school, and the only person who believes in his innocence is a total stranger who was watching him from the woods that day. 17-year-old Scarlet is bored with her life. Her overbearing parents try to contain her unpredictable behavior, but she is too curious and clever to not follow the things in life that catch her interests, and she has many. While executing a poorly thought out plan to investigate the town weirdo, she stumbles upon something much stranger: his awkward, emo next door neighbor. She saw what happened, and she saw what didn't happen. When she hears the accusations made against him, she takes it upon herself to free them both from their stupid, Washington town. (Odd number chapters are Billie's POV Even number chapters are Scarlet's POV) ----- This is my first story. I hope someone likes it. Okay. Thanks. ***Trigger warning ***: self harm, sexual assault
