"Karen...where are you going?" he asked. "I am going out for a date...not that it matters to you...anyway... what are-" "I am here to tell you something..." he completed "Can you please talk...my date is waiting for me." "Can you cancel this date of yours..." he slurred. "Why?" He pushed me against the wall and held my arms. "Because I can't bear to see you with any other man, kissing him, going out on dates with him!" he growled. "Why not?" I whispered due to how close our faces were, I just needed to lean a bit for our lips to connect. "Because you are mine! You have been mine since we first saw each other in the park! Because I love you! God damn it!" And then he crashed his lips on mine. ***** Karen is a very popular girl in her school. The good popular. The one who isn't a nerd and who isn't a snob. "You'll never get this done, you know?" The satisfaction was evident in his voice. "You could leave me alone so I can actually get this finished. Or pick up a brush." I gestured to the abundance of supplies I had purchased. "Mmm, no thanks. Don't really have my painting clothes on." My smirk reappeared and I turned fully to face him. "That's a real shame," I cocked my head to the side and fake pouted before pointing in his direction, "the door frame is wet." His body shot off the door frame he had been leaning against and he looked over his shoulder to see the line of white paint trailing down his presumably expensive coat. "Have a great rest of your day, Mr Styles." They've known each other since they were eleven, inseparable best friends for as long as they can remember, but long distance and spotty behavior causes them to lose touch after graduation. When Maddie and Harry run into each other again ten years later, what happens when feelings that were pushed away begin to resurface? EXCERPT: "How about this..." He suddenly gets an idea, a bold one, but he can't help but share it. "If neither of us are married by thirty, let's get married." Obviously, she'll be married by thirty. She's perfect, and any man who's as dense as a rock could see it. Surely, someone will sweep her off her feet and put a ring on her finger in the next twelve years, it's inevitable with the type of person she is. Deep down he wants it to be him, but he wouldn't dare make a move that could ruin the strongest friendship he's had his entire life. Maddie finds herself smiling at Harry's idea, she loves it. It won't happen though, because some girl in the future is bound to fall in love with Harry and his kind heart, and he'll be head over heels for her too. It's inevitable that someone will fall in love with his dimpled smile and caring soul, and even though Maddie already has, she wouldn't dare make a move that could ruin the strongest friendship she's had her entire life. The age of thirty is twelve years away for them, it's too obvious that nothing will come from this harmless bet. "Deal." "Really?" Harry raises his eyebrows, amused at her response. "Really." They shake hands just as the song comes to an end and another one begins. But Harry doesn't let go of Lainey's hand, instead he catches her off guard by spinning her under his arm and dipping her. He runs up behind you, picking you up and spinning you around. You laugh and blush the whole time. He finally sets you down and kisses your forehead. Sounds perfect doesn't it? That's what Abby has... with her bestfriend. He is always making her laugh and is always smiling. He is that guy at school that everyone loves, including Abby. If you see one of them, the other is sure to be inches away. They have gone through a lot together and have been bestfriends since they were little. She's in love, he's in love, but they're both Clueless. *** "Morning, beautiful," he winked. When he said that I couldn't help but blush. His arm was still around my waist and my hands were on his bare chest. I could feel sparks running throughout my whole body. I loved waking up like this. Even though he is my best friend and all, I'm happy I get this time where it feels like we're almost more then that.Complete
