I walked forward, a limp slowing me down, as I surveyed the blood dripping down my arm. After my run-in with the Burners - which didn't go too well for me - I had run through alleys, trying to get away from them. But then I had to go and get lost.

Great. Just my luck.

I hissed in pain when my fingers grazed a deep slash on my forearm, which drew my complete attention.

Which is why I didn't notice the rain that started to fall. Puddles formed quickly, due to the steady pounding of heavy rain. I thought nothing of it. Rain was a common occurrence in Corell. But then I tripped, and I flew towards the ground at an alarming speed. I braced myself for impact, knowing this could end really badly. But I never hit pavement.

I went through the water for what seemed like eternities. And then I hit something. Or, rather, someone.

The knife in his arm needed to be removed, or else it would become infected, and that meant even more pain. Daniel fell against a tree with a soft "thud". He grabbed the handle of the knife, and ripped it out of his arm, the blood glistening in the moonlight. What would he do now? Where would he go? These were the words that were racing through Daniel's mind. It's just hard to believe that this all started only three days ago...
