Megan Rider is a young student attending Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. Studying to become a pediatrician, she takes everything she does very seriously.
Kaleb Duller also attends Harvard University. He studies vaccines, and knows anything about all vaccines.
But then the apocalypse strikes.
Everyone is in the hospital, dying in agony. Everyone is infected, except a handful of people. These people are racing around the clock to find a cure to the mysterious virus, now named Yosbrine virus.
Megan and Kaleb are working on the cure, but it seems impossible to find the answer to one question.

The zombie apocalypse is coming. A scientist at the CDC has that terrifying realization when infected victims start displaying the symptoms predicted by his model. A virus responsible for hemorrhagic fevers is mutating into something that zombifies its victims instead of killing them. Realizing the only hope is to get ahead of it, he sets out to create a vaccine, but to create a vaccine he needs a sample of the virus. He tries to enlist the aid of a colleague to help him create the very virus he wants to eradicate, but she refuses on ethical grounds. Witnessing the horrific transformation of an infected patient forces her to reconsider, but before they can start working on a vaccine, their virus samples are stolen. As they criss-cross the country on a hunt for a cure, the paths of the two scientists cross those of a shadow organization on a secret mission, and a loose-knit network of zombie prepper groups whose loyalties are unclear. Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel
What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in.
