When 14 year old Brooklyn Shila "Brook" Manks almost drowns her life is saved by an unknown force and she soon realizes that the force did more than save her life. Now she has to learn to master her newfound powers all while keeping them a secret from her high strung mother and visiting Yalie sister. Luckily things start going her way when she meets Terra Parks, a 17 year old girl with powers similar to hers who offers to help her learn how to control them but things are not as they seem. Strange symbols start app reading all over town and the news has taken an interest but only Brook's dead father holds the key to understanding what they mean. Soon Brook and Terra decide to team up with local shy guy Gale Richards and wealthy son of entrepreneur parents Egan James, who also began exhibiting strange powers after their own near death experiences, to follow the same path that Ken Manks followed 14 years ago but will the team of 4 get more than they bargained for when they reach their destination? Kala had always thought of herself as normal, but when the world ended, cleansed by a power most would fail to understand, she realized she was far from normal. That day, Kala awoke in a fog surrounded by a nothingness that permeated every pore of her body. The only sounds she could hear were her own ragged breaths in the vast and empty darkness. When the light finally returned, she found herself utterly alone and suddenly part of a struggle much bigger than she'd ever thought possible. With that struggle came something else...power. Power to control the elements. Power the likes of which she had only seen in movies or read about in books. Despite her disbelief, it remained...right there in the palms of her hands. Eventually Kala learned to use her power as it was intended. As she wandered the new world, she met others like herself, other Servants with similar abilities who understood the reason for the destruction...for the loss. And then, six years after her world turned upside down, she met him. A handsome stranger in a tiny town in the middle of the West Virginia woods - not a Servant - not like her. And certainly not the type of man Kala had expected to find herself falling for. But the man she met there turned out to be more than just a hero in her time of need. At her side, he would become a protector, leader, confidant, and so much more. Together, they would find themselves fighting a growing evil...a man like Kala, who had been granted power beyond words or description. He might have been a good man once, but his fall was nearly complete. And now he desired only to rule - not to heal. This man would lead a small army against them, but they wouldn't have to fight alone. There was another, more powerful force on their side...one that could change the course of the war to come.

I looked at him in shock, "How do you know that?" "I know a lot of things about you, Ms. Prior, even things you don't know yourself." Excuse me? "From what you can do," he paused giving me a look before directing his gaze back at the field. "To your eye color. Your parents have blue ones, so I don't see how that works." What? He continued without question, "You are still a mystery to us, as you have never showed any signs of power before, so it's sort of confusing." He paused for a few seconds them said, "You're different; you have an ability. You're a Supernatural." "Ok, I really need to go so..." I began walking back, but he stuck out his arm to block me. And that's when it happened. Flames rose on his arms, lighting them on fire. I backed up, feeling the heat radiate off his arms. I was in utter shock, yet he looked relaxed, amused even. "What the hell are you?" I jumped back, and the fire went out, a smirk rising on his face. "I'm just like you." ***** Kayla Prior has always been a popular girl, and everyone looks up to her. She has always had something different from the rest of the crowd, and never knew what it was. There are others like her who support her every step. However, none can help her with what she is about to face. She's the key to defeating evil forces that lie in wait. She's being hunted down, and Kayla gets into a mess that no one can get her out of, except the ones she trusts... It's Millie's final year at university, however there seem to be more pressing matters than writing her dissertation and completing her uni work. Nothing unusual there. New supernaturals are on the scene- supernaturals that nobody seems to know anything about. But Millie has stronger ties to these individuals than she originally thought, and starts to realise that she's been part of a bigger plan for a very long time. Perhaps longer than she remembers. With seemingly no other option than to join forces and place her trust in the hands of people she barely knows, Millie has a number of tough decisions to make. And no, those decisions are not based upon the fate of the entire universe. Not all of them, anyway. Will Millie put her life at risk again to save those who she loves? Or will she decide to leave it in the hands of someone else? Find out in the (possible) final instalment of Argent Eye. ** Book 3 of the Argent Eye series ** ** contains some strong language **
