Mankind has always been fond of legends. Stories of terrible creatures, of daring rescues, of powerful magic. Alas, humans and their world of science have never been able to attain such power - or the one thing mankind most desires: immortality. After all, such things have no place in this world. If such creatures were to exist, they would surely be monsters.

Meet Gilly. She's what one might call a monster. A young teenager by appearance, she is actually a being that has existed for more than 700 years. As one of eight immortals holding the raw power of the world, she's also got her work cut out for her keeping up that streak. For humans, in all their greed, are not the only things searching for power.

As the illusion of science begins to dim, the side of the world that has been hidden for far too long begins to emerge once more. For all of their achievements, mankind is woefully unprepared for the horrors that await them. Gilly is one of the few standing between humanity and her own kind in the mounting conflict, setting both against her and the other seven. In order to save humanity, she must first save herself.

Trapped in an unfamiliar world, sixteen-year-old Quinn is frustrated that none of the strange Tree People appreciate his urgency to get back home to earth. Now he is faced with a choice that could change the course of his life: escape and find his own way home, or stay and help them find the cause of the poison ravishing their world. Once upon a time, when the universe was still a canvas of chaos, two beings were born from the whispers of the cosmos - one to create, the other to end. Life bloomed first, her touch weaving colors into the void, breathing warmth into the cold emptiness. She carved lands from stardust and spilled rivers from her veins, painting beauty across the desolate world. But where life danced, shadows followed - for with every beginning, there must be an end. Death rose from the silence she left behind - dark, eternal, inevitable. He was the storm to her serenity, the hunger to her abundance. Yet even in his stillness, he watched her - watched how she gave, how she loved, how she created. And in that watching... something began to stir. But desire was a dangerous poison in the hands of Death. He didn't want to watch - he wanted to own. To break. To rule. When his hunger grew unbearable, he waged war - not for destruction, but for dominance. He wanted to claim Life - her power, her lands, her light. But neither could win, for they were equals. It was the Caretaker of the Fate Tree who sealed their endless battle with a challenge. If they wished to fight, they would do so not in the heavens... but in the mortal realm - bound by human flesh, bound by the rules of fate. A game of power. A game of desire. Yet no one could foresee the price that would be paid. For in his quest to conquer her... Death would fall to his knees. And Life would become his only obsession. The game was set. The players were ready. But fate... fate always had the final move.

I don't have to tell you about to me say I'm not normal. I don't even have to say my name. Just take my hand, and let me show you to the looking-glass. Look inside, and you'll see. I'm sixteen years old. I spend my life more with the dead than the living. And my father- why, my father is the Grim Reaper. Blakely knew from when she was born that she wouldn't lead a life that was ordinary. But even her unorthodox path took a turn when she met the half-angel, Arielle, whose soul had resisted her reaping. After being turned mortal, she is forced on a quest to discover her past: her heritage, her father's lies, and the true reason her brother ran away from home. Foes unite and secrets are spilled in a quest for the truth, and family are reunited and broken apart. But, when it counts, will Blakely make the right decision? This was the angel's true form, I knew; so pure that it was deadly to behold. "You won't have me, Blakely. You'll never have me."
