This is Jonnie fanfic for casualty. Jacob has a 2 year old daughter called Jessica (jessie). Jessie's mum died while giving birth and that has left a massive impact on Jessie. When Jacob meets Connie all he wants is for them to be together. He knows Connie has a daughter who is 8 so wasn't as worried about Jessie but he didn't want to get rejected because of Jessie like he had so many times before. However, he knew Connie was different he could see it in her eyes, for once Jacob had hope.

Connie and Jacob start a relationship just as Connie applies for a new job as an army medic. When she gets posted to Afghanistan, can they keep their relationship alive?

Connie and Jacob are together but things are never 'easy' in her life, especially when she's made to choose - her job or her life...

Connie has two very good friends Zoe and Rita. She was a surgeon but left when she got pregnant with her bosses baby 5 years ago. She then lost the baby, she couldn't face the past him, and so looked for a new challenge. She now teaches A Level Biology at a compressive school and a challenge she got. She's found it hard to adjust to a slower pace of life and she misses Being a surgeon. She's lost all get up and go she's lost who she was, but could one student change that and spark her back into life.

my thoughts on how the whole connie/jacob/grace situation will turn out. using the spring trailer and spoiler articles, I'm going to try and fit the pieces together. obviously I have my fingers crossed for a happy Jonnie ending.

Connie left for America with her daughter and Sam, they'd spent four years in America before they moved back to Holby. She had a family with them and it was great at the start, but Sam would always be Sam and Connie would always be Connie. Six years on and everything seems to have gone back to the days when Connie was pregnant, she just wanted someone who had eyes for her and only her, but that wasn't Sam anymore. Title is from the song Try - Nelly Furtado. Heard it and this is where the idea sort of started from :)

Following Jacob as once again Connie pushes him away, leaving him alone and miserable at Christmas time.
