The survivors of this brave new world must find a way to operate in an environment of scarcity. Some still yearn for the olden days of humanity, an era of plenty. Only those most determined to carry on and thrive in a new era of capricious geopolitical uncertainty will prosper and begin a renaissance of humanity. Can these broken pieces be stitched back together, or will we remain forlorn forever?

Now people are afraid to experience feelings, lest they die from the terrible internal ulcers caused by the disease. What if some can cope with such a serious illness, while others cannot? And what will be the result of making decisions with your head and not with your heart? Mind-blowing fantasy, the plot component of which has no analogue. A brilliant plot interweaves with harsh questions that we run from throughout our lives. Maybe it's time to answer them?

Their new home is amongst their friends and they have adapted to a new way of life with each other. Though, safety is harder in the colder months and disaster is close by. Em begins to feel the pressure of trying to hold the town together as it begins to fall apart around her. When tragedy strikes and both their worlds are turned upside-down, they must face the past head on and travel to familiar places if they want to hold on to the people they love. Everything is on the line and there's only one person who can stop it.
