Ty is a normal, albeit very intelligent, teenage boy. His family is a normal middle class family; his father a mechanic and his mother a college professor. Ty attends a public school, gets good grades, mows lawns over the summer, and watches his sister when his parts are out. He's never expected much to happens to him, nothing that couldn't be expected from a normal life.

When Ty is offered a spot in the Roland Academy for the Leaders of Tomorrow, however, his normal life shatters into a million pieces. The Academy, one the most prestigious, and expensive, private high schools in the country introduces Ty to a world completely different from the one he had known, one full of money, power, and secrets buried under mountains of lies.

With the help of some new friends, Ty must learn to navigate this new world and all of the things that come with it. That, and he must learn how to come out ahead when everyone around him is battling for power and prestige.
