Born into a family of poor woodcutters, in 14th century France, a young girl of about 16 is forced by her parents to go into the forest and lives there alone. She, for the love of her parents, accepts and begins to live in the forest for years until a young aristocratic boy begins to live with her in the forest, after she has saved his life.
