Eliza Stanford is a complicated, free spirited young 1940's blonde who has run from her home in Chicago, Illinois to none other than London, England to live out the dream of becoming a vocalist. Eliza had always moved from foster home to foster home and decided the chaotic life was no longer worth it, this leaving her to occasionally sing in old bars in saloons to make a bit of extra money.

But the cause of World War II make it slightly dangerous to wander the streets at night. Though things are looking up for Eliza when she meets a young, handsome, English solider who takes heavy interest in watching her sing most nights in the Sandy Saloon. The new relationship sparks up, and Eliza begins to dream of settling down and starting a family.

But what sort of trouble will the war start up with her relationship? Eliza has finally found happiness but she's too used to the joy always ending. The only solace she can find is speaking her emotions through song.

Will Eliza run like she always has, potentially leaving behind the only happy life she could possibly have, or will she learn that she deserves joy, serenity and a happy ending?

Or will the war end everything instead?
