No one knew how the darkness started. Rumors spread around town. Some say the Gods have cursed us. Others say it's just some freak storm. Most say it's the work of dark magic. But nothing has been confirmed yet. For generations, and generations the darkness has surrounded Malaria. And it hasn't left once.
The sun has never risen, the sky has never rained, and the only snow Hazel has ever heard of is in her books.
