June is dealing with her parents odd divorce. It becomes to much for her to handle so she moves in with her grandma in California for the summer. Despite her name, she comes from the mountains of Colorado, and she has never experienced the "summer" before.  She meets Maya who is quite similar to June, and helps her navigate in a brand new place. June is in awe of everything she sees and falls in love with this alternative environment. But then she meets Beck, the super hot surfer boy down at the beach. She can't keep herself away. But not every boy is what he seems...
