Ellis Grindelwald used to wish she was a Squib, too. Then, perhaps, all she had to do was answer questions about whether she really hailed from a certain village in Switzerland: she did not. Alas, when she was thrusted into the realm of non-magic, she was not welcomed. As much as nobody had the slightest clue about her heritage, none was fooled by her mismatched eyes. One light, one dark: it was the epitome of evil. It did not help that strange things always seemed to happen around her, including a barn owl swooping into her dorm room on her eleventh birthday.
She felt like she had waited her entire life for that moment. Her chance to turn her life around had finally come. There was not going to be time for friends, not that she would make any. There was not going to be time for boys; those were a waste. There was only time for study, because a basketful of O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s was her only ticket to leave behind what she had.
It was time to reenter the world in which her name heralded wickedness and villainy--it was time to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
