Harry Potter was born into a rough time in the Wizarding Community. Lord Voldemort was in power and far too few could match his strength. Harry had been prophesied to be the one with the power to bring down the Dark Lord, ultimately causing Harry to lose both of his parents at the mere age of one. Harry, for his own safety as decided by Professor Dumbledore, was sent to live with his mother's sister and her family. The Dursley's, a notoriously boring and conformative family, were perfectly happy with their perfect, simple lives before Harry was introduced. His mother and aunt did not get along, Harry's mother being "strange" for being a witch. Hence, Harry was treated terribly by his own blood. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, long time friends of Harry's father, James, finally found Harry with the Dursley's.
