I went sprinting down the corridor, hearing footsteps echoing a few hallways down. Finally when I turn the corner and think I'm putting some distance on the murderous cannibals and starting to plan how to escape the sewers, a small sound resounds in the darkness.
The sound of skin dragging on stone makes me break out in a cold sweat and immediately crouch down while drawing the small switchblade out of my back pocket. Hilarious, like my glorified butter-spreader is going to harm what I know is sitting nearby watching me.
I only had one shot at escaping from this...mostly unscathed. Pulling out the small glowing red stone, I threw it down while covering my face and diving back around the corner as the whole world exploded around me.
