Thea Harris was just a normal girl living a normal life. One day, she heard that there were three neighbours coming to live in Farrer Breek, their hometown. But when they came, instead of three, there were four and all four of them mystified Thea. Why is it that they look so pale and beautiful? Why do they act so strange, like not eating and staring at her often? Why it is when they come Thea couldn’t help but feel suffocated,  a wrong wrath of air? She and her brother, Jef, finds out the truth when their parents went for a vacation and that truth shocked. Then she met up with an old friend and noticed his ring. A black dahlia. What does that mean? Soon, she finds it all out and then came the mysterious death of Aunt Poppy. She has to decide, whether to become what their kind is or herself and she had to know whether her bestest friend had became a murderer because of love or is it just fake. And Jax soon fall in love with their little human friend.
