Here you are standing in front of a mountain forest. It's 9 o'clock at night with the moon as your only source of light.
You are trying to be ready for the walk of your life. You feel nervous and that dark voice inside you is already saying you won't be able to make. But there is this little voice, a piece of you that is urging you to do this. You see, life has been hard, you have been through so much, and because of that, you have lost yourself. You don't think that you can do much of anything anymore, but you want to, and walking to the top of this mountain will be the start of a new beginning, all you have to do is reach the top. "Can I accomplish this?" you ask yourself. You sigh as you close your eyes for a moment, breathe in, breathe out. You open your eyes again and let the journey upward begin.

How we made it in South Africa
I invite you to share in our journey. I started writing this book 13 May 2008 It takes you through our whole experience of rising up and prospering in South Africa - even under a racist ANC government. I've written this book as an inspiration, that even in the face of huge adversity, you can come out on the other side and make it. However, my wish for you is not to only "make it" - but live your best life. I invite you to come on this journey with us. It was sometimes an emotional rollercoaster with many trials and tribulations, but the end result was worth it. This book is very special and unique in the sense that it was started and written while I was at the lowest point in my life with no salvation in sight... It's wasn't written in hindsight or after the fact. It started with hope, a dream, a promise. You will see when you start going through these pages - If I could make it, surely you can. "Shift." His voice hit me like a serrated blade as he stepped out of the crude semicircle of hardened wolves that had formed around me. I pushed myself off of the cold floor for what felt like the thousandth time that day, wiping the small trail of blood coming off of my lip and down my chin. "I won't ask you again." My limbs felt like lead, these wolves had been at me for hours trying to get me to shift into my wolf, unbeknown to them was that their efforts would forever be futile considering the fact my wolf wouldn't make an appearance for me even when I begged. I seriously doubted she would suddenly pop up as a result of their abusive tactics. Instead of explaining my circumstances, driven by a bizarre combination of adrenaline and fatigue, I leaned back on my heels and sent the largest loogie I'd ever conjured flying over and landing squarely between the eyes of the man before me. oOoOoOoOoOo As a late bloomer who was incapable of shifting yet, let alone making any contact with her wolf, Olive Ludovic's life was not off to the best start. Growing up, constantly being tormented and taunted by those around her forced Olive to grow a tough skin and work even harder, despite the fact she was without her wolf. #7 in vampire #1 in queen The world has gotten boring to him after living for many centuries, through many generations. He thought of it as a curse. His gift was anything but a gift, in his opinion. He loved killing people. He always has. He enjoyed seeing the life being drained out of them, quite literally. He always drank every last drop of their life essence, he didn't have mercy. Though he was the king there was something he could never have unlike others of his kind. A soulmate. He hadn't been turned or born from vampire parents. No, he was born a monster from human parents. The first of his kind. Why he was born like it, he didn't know. He didn't care. All he knew was that he wanted to die already, since he had no mate to look forward to. He lived because he couldn't die, at least not physically. He had no reason to live, but many reasons to die and even though he tried many times by many methods, none of them suceeded. He staked himself, on multiple occasions. It felt like a needle piercing his skin. He hung himself. He didn't die, but he hung there, very much conscious. He went on the gillotine. It made his body dissapear and reappear in the same spot he was born in. He took his heart out. He grew one back. He bled out. His blood regenerated. He used silver stakes. They burned his flesh. He overdosed. It did nothing since drugs, alcohol and other dangerous things do absolutely nothing to him, except get him under the influence to a certain level. But none of them filled the emptiness in his heart. He just needed her. But all he got were unimportant girls he used and forgot about. He never felt anything for them. He couldn't. But then on that day while he was walking around a small town's forest, he felt the emptiness slowly being filled up a bit. He stood there in shock. He couldn't believe it. He almost cried of happiness, right then and there. He had her. He had a mate. His mate. His one and only mate. His Queen.Complete

Have you ever felt so lonely you believed there was nothing left for you? Stashed away, merely forgotten. I mean you could cry and cry, yet no one would hear you. At least no one you truly once loved. Being yourself can be detrimental to others happiness, and so you down play who you are. You devalue your beliefs, your morals fall short and that hollow rock turns into your Mirror. Do you matter anymore? Would anyone care if you simply disappeared? Could you find your way out of the darkness? Look Closer is one of my favourite quotes and so I'll use it as a guide to understanding the complex characters you're about to meet.Complete
