After moving to a small town for a semester and a half, Camilla Adams is relived about how great the new place and school seem to be, and how nice some people were.

But then she notices the way students treat one particular quiet guy, some horribly, some giving him a wide berth. Being too overwhelmed with the move at first, Camilla hadn't noticed him. But now that she's settled, something about Ethan Bishop pulls her.

Maybe she sees her loneliness reflected in him, or maybe it's simply her nosy side poking around, but with a smile on her face, she approaches the quiet Ethan. Only to find out he couldn't actually hear her...

Camilla Harrison's life was nothing special. She was raised mostly by her older brother, and she trusted him wholeheartedly - until the shooting. When her brother killed her father, her entire life was torn at the seams. For everyone knows that the people you rely the most on can cause you the most pain. Depression had overcome Camilla's life, and she was on the fast track to wasting away to nothing. All hope is lost, until she meets the new guy. Will Jaxon Boyd be able to pull Camilla out of the deep abyss she had dug for herself? Or will she continue on the road to nowhere, slowly dying with every day that passes by? --- Short Story #231 07/31/14 (I wrote this when I was 14. It's not good. Read at your own risk.)
