A five year old boy finds a girl around the same age as him, being bullied by three older boys. He runs over to help and ends up in a mess that covers him in bruises and cuts. When the bullies leave, the girl helps the boy up.
The girl is the only person there for his birthday to give him a card. They blush and smile.
They spend time together for years, then they are lucky enough to have a son and a husky puppy, and get married.
One day, the puppy got run over by a truck whilst playing in the garden with the family, he sadly died from his injuries.
A few months later, the(now) woman is rushed to hospital, only to find she has cancer ad the treatment doesn't come cheap.
The (now) man met a person in the pub who said could help him pay for the treatment for his wife. But he had to go to military as the job.
He said his goodbyes and took off for military.
As he saw his friend he met get shot, he knew he had to carry on.
He took a last glance at the card his wife gave him, he turned and shot,
He got shot in the head, and he died.
