A mother dies at childbirth, delivering twins. The husband is haunted to his grave by a ruthless entity. A once vibrant home is ultimately abandoned. Their first-born daughter, Salima, is left to stay with a guardian aunt, whose friendly gestures aren't what they appear. Inside, she can't bear to see Salima happy, even imposing slave rules on her, inviting evil in.

Salima's stay at her aunt's place feels long, and slow, and horrible, but she lives through it with kindness. With increasing unspoken tension in the house, Salima desperately needs a survival plan, and fast, before her evil-minded aunt murders her ...

Then the unthinkable happens: Salima dares a dangerous escape in the depth of night, relying on that uncanny intuition which lands her in the hands of a charming stranger and his adorable wife.
Orphaned, vulnerable, and with nowhere to hide, her options are severely limited, potentially deadly. She can only risk to trust. Now she has to, needs to, fight, to realize her dream of reclaiming her family.

Though hurt inside, Salima's charm is legendary, endearing many to her, letting her overcome her bitter past, and helping her put a price on her dream of reuniting with her long-lost twin siblings, who had been taken by people unknown to her.

But the queen of kindness doesn't know fate had already imposed its own rules on their destiny, the emotions and ecstasy expressed no better than with drenching tears, hot and abundant.

Sixteen year old, Bella Harken, has knowingly taken one of the hardest jobs she's ever had, or ever WILL have. She is the nanny for the dreaded Sweeny siblings. There are four of them. Owen (17), Eli (15), Danny (10), and Lucy (3). Despite the protests of her over-protective siblings (she's the ninth member of the dozen Harken "siblings"), she decides to live up to the challenge. She's never backed away from a challenge before, so why start now? Even if it means "babysitting" a boy that she's known since she was six. The Sweeny brothers, will do ANYTHING to get rid of Bella for good, so that their mother will FINALLY remember that they exist. Besides, battling Bella in the game of wits and pranks has been far more fun than they'll ever let her know. After a year, they still have not come to terms with the fact that she's there to stay. When one normal seeming weekend, begins to slide downhill at a rapid pace, Bella's rocky, mysterious past begins to haunt her, and the rest of her town. Will the Sweenys and the Harkens finally rebuild the bridge that had been torn down in an equally as mysterious strife, or will they revert back to the hatred and loathing they've known for so long? How will one weekend change the lives of these average teenagers forever? *~*~* A/N: I wrote this story as a challenge for myself in December of 2011, I wanted to complete it before the new year. And I did. This is the final product and I haven't really looked at it or edited it since, so I apologize for any mistakes and/or plot holes. Please enjoy, and let me know what you think. Thank you so much for reading.
